Lame Duck or Diversion?

Sheriff Tim Mueller of Linn County, Oregon says his department will not participate in any overreaching and unconstitutional federal firearms restrictions. “…I refuse to allow the citizens of my county to be turned into criminals by misguided politicians.” CNS News

Did the President bite off more than he could chew, or is this the best way to divert America's outrage over recent tax increases and  the upcoming budget busting deficit?
He may have accomplished both in this one initiative, you make the call...

So much for the economy,
let's work on more restrictions

Obama to ‘Put Everything I’ve Got’
Into Gun Control
WASHINGTON — Four days before taking the oath of office, President Obama on Wednesday staked the beginning of his second term on an uphill quest to pass the broadest gun control legislation in a generation. New York Times

What happened to creating jobs and putting Americans back to work? What happened to balancing the budget, reducing the deficit and national debt? What happened to the war on drugs?  To what ends have most all government efforts accomplished in dealing with these national crises?
Sorry Mr. President, creating more restrictions on Americans is not the answer.  The federal government you head is unable to enforce the laws and directives already in place.  It is unable to efficiently manage any of its resources successfully.
Almost all your programs, laws, high ideals and promises are not working, why would anyone believe this will make a difference?  Governmental control and restriction will not solve anything.
If you really want to reduce violence, disorder and chaos, you would get out of the way and let Americans go back to work, which will bolster the economy and create the hope of a better life that we once had. Allow Americans the freedom to achieve their dreams instead of creating more and more restrictions and taxing us out of business.
Our dependence on government is just creating more bondage on the American people, and it looks like that's the end game.  Treat the symptoms, but allow the illness to thrive; and make a good show for us in the process.
In part, it is your greed and the hunger for power and control that is destroying the American dream of a better life.  After all, isn't that all we have ever really wanted?
I find it sad that people believe the lie that this government is able to provide us a better quality of life.  The results are becoming a painful reality...

How criminals get
guns in New York

Just read the Newspaper for location
The home of a gun owner, whose address was published by a New York newspaper, has been burglarized and a state lawmaker said it appears the burglars may have used the newspaper’s map to target the residence.
“Luckily the gun was locked up and no one was hurt,” Sen. Greg Ball said.
“The Journal News has placed the lives of these folks at risk by creating a virtual shopping list for criminals and nut jobs,” said Ball. ~ More at Fox News

Quote of the week...

"To basically eradicate assault weapons from our streets in New York as quickly as possible is something the people of this state want." SHELDON SILVER, speaker of the State Assembly, on a new package of gun restrictions. New York TImes
~ ~ ~
I'm sure you may believe that Mr. Speaker, but what makes you think you have the power to actually accomplish it?
You made drugs illegal, look how well that plan worked. Drugs kill tens of thousands more in New York state than assault weapons. All your laws and high ideals are not the answer, prepare to fail...again!
Thank goodness your constituents think you're doing the right thing. It's all about public perception and media attention. Your laws only keep honest people honest, they will not stop those who would choose to ignore them...
Impose your will quickly, don't let a good crisis go to waste. Lord knows public opinion will change soon, its called thinking twice...

Don't quote the Bible if you
want to lead prayer at the
Presidential Inauguration!

Quoting the Holy Bible is now grounds to be dismissed from the inauguration of the President of the United States as was Atlanta Pastor Louie Giglio.

This journalist says the Bible is filled with things that "no one in America believes" and that "no one accepts all the teachings of the Bible, no one" (6:19 mark in video).
Although much of Mr. O'Donnell's rhetoric may be accurate, I disagree with "no one in America believes" and "no one accepts all the teachings".
How can any man know the heart, mind and beliefs of every American, every Christian?
As an American, believing God exists and the Holy Bible is the true word of God is not the hard part for me.  The hard part was believing I needed God.  Yes, learning to love and trust Him, surrendering my will to Him and be obedient to His instructions, those precepts were my greatest adversity.
Letting go of American culture of the pride of self-sufficiency, independence, individualism and intellect was much more difficult, and is a constant daily struggle.
For me, believing is not near as difficult as is relying on His power, trusting His grace, being obedient to His word and staying engaged with Him.  These choices and actions seem to be where the great war for my heart and soul take place.
It is no wonder Americans' despise religion, we don't like authority and we don't like being told how we are supposed to live.  Fortunately, history has shown there are consequences of rejecting God's authority... and history does repeat itself...

If someone found Noah's Ark,
would you believe them?

The information on this webpage concerning the location of Noah's Ark sure does create many unanswered questions.
I wonder why I have never seen this, it's been around over 50 years.  With such broad and profound implications, you would think the media would touch on it every year or two, if only for the sake of ratings...
Even if it were a hoax, its sheer magnitude would prompt attention.
Could Would the world embrace the Holy Bible if technology were to actually prove its stories?
Is it easier to believe human theory and speculation than recorded documentation?  Would we rather believe in vampires and super heros?

Is seeing really believing? I think not...
