Remembering 9/11

I remember the shock I experienced as I watched the World Trade Center burn. Total disbelief consumed me when I saw the second plane fly into the other building, live on TV. I will never get those pictures out of my mind. A new fear of insecurity swept over me. The minutes seemed like hours; time slowed to a crawl.

I will never forget the anger I felt when they announced a terrorist named Osama Bin Laden and his radical group Al Qaeda took credit for the devastation. The enemy had shown its face; religious extremists hell bent on Jihad and the death of American infidels.

The days and weeks to follow brought Americans together. Heros emerged from the masses; sacrificing their lives to save innocent others. In God We Trust took on a renewed reverence.

Despite the fear, pain, panic and confusion, I experienced pride in my fellow Americans. Hope surged through my soul as we came together for just a moment in time for a common purpose.

Reflecting on that time, it seems so very far away; so long past. It is my prayer that the division which strangles our country would be put on hold, for just this day. In memory of those who died and in honor of the great American spirit, I tender my condolence, gratitude and respect; engraved in my heart forever.

Fellow Haters Club

Since I have been told that I "enjoy the hate" when referring to our political leaders, I have decided that I might as well start and join an appropriate club.

If getting angry with a person who lies to me constitutes me being a "hater"; so be it! I know it's okay to feel anger; it's my aggressive behavior that's the problem. Of course, I have exhibited no aggressive behavior since I'm only able to vent my anger by writing. Unless writing is a behavior, then I'm gonna burn.

I do take comfort in knowing I'm not alone in my feelings...

'There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers
.'

"Public Option", Mr. President?
Is that what you call it?

Tonight, the President will share his vision of healthcare reform; his third speech this week, and it’s Wednesday. Unfortunately, his vision, as noble and exalted as it may be, is only a mirage that will disappear and create higher unemployment and worse healthcare.

I expect the most emotional, charismatic appeal to Americans to date. I expect meaningful words fabricated for Americans who are ignorant about what’s put down on paper and how it will actually be managed.

Why are the keywords used so deceitful? As my buddy Sharky pointed out about the term “public option”, “You change the word public to government, and you will lose more than half that number [of supporters]. … This is the GOVERNMENT PLAN -- not an option.

The greatest crisis in this country today is unemployment! Why does he not focus his energies on our economy instead of these tax and spend programs. Do people not see his policies are crippling our economy? How long before liberals admit that maybe this President was a mistake?

Once again, I will listen to his empty promises, which many call “mistakes” or “miscalculations” made by his staff, not by the Congressional Budget Office. I will watch as he “gets in the face” of Americans and shoves this down America’s throat; eloquently of course.

It’s about the money, not the welfare of Americans. It’s always about the money and/or control. The same money and control that caused England to over-tax our tea and the south to succeed to save slavery.

I continue to ask: Why would Americans want to turn their healthcare over to a GROUP OF CRIMINALS? If you haven’t noticed, the majority of our federal government are under a shadow of misconduct.

But go ahead, cheer them on; support them! You condemn your children and parents as well as mine!

But, I could be wrong,
find out tonight,

Denney Crane

Unnecessary Humor

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

A young guy from Wisconsin moves to Florida and goes to a big everything-under-one-roof department store looking for a job.

The Manager says, 'Do you have any sales experience?'

The kid says 'Yeah. I was a salesman back in Wisconsin.'

Well, the boss liked the kid and gave him the job. 'You start tomorrow. I'll come down after we close and see how you did.'

His first day on the job was rough, but he got through it.

After the store was locked up, the boss came down. 'How many customers bought something from you today?'

The kid says, 'One.'

The boss says, 'Just one? Our sales people average 20 to 30 customers a day. How much was the sale for?'

The kid says, '$101,237.65.'

The boss says, '$101,237.65? What the heck did you sell?'

The kid says, 'First, I sold him a small fishhook. Then I sold him a medium fishhook. Then I sold him a larger fishhook. Then I sold him a new fishing rod. Then I asked him where he was going fishing, and he said down the coast, so I told him he was going to need a boat, so we went down to the boat department, and I sold him a twin engine Chris Craft.

Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I took him down to the automotive department and sold him that 4x4 Expedition.'

The boss said 'A guy came in here to buy a fish hook and you sold him a BOAT and a TRUCK?'

The kid said 'No, the guy came in here to buy Tampons for his wife, and I said, 'Dude, your weekend's shot, you should go fishing.'

Forcing our children to listen!

I was talking to Mrs. Crane and Denney Crane IV about the President's broadcast to school children this weekend. I let them know, in no uncertain terms, that it would be a cold day in hell before I would ever allow the school to force my child to listen to anyone I believe a detrimental or deceptive influence! Actually, there are many other individuals that I would not allow forced guidance; if not for the simple reason to show my child that I don’t endorse, support or approve of that person.

The original lesson plan included the students writing a letter telling him how they could help him. Help him?!?! This President has desecrated the US Constitution and declared war on the American people! He has endorsed infanticide and partial birth abortion. He has partnered with organized crime through labor unions. He has bypassed Congress using Czars (without even disguising the name “Czar”). He has, with the help of G.W. Bush & Congress, fleeced the American taxpayer through TARP and Stimulus. The only help I want to give our President is to kick his ass out of office.

As I listen to him live on TV this Labor Day, I realized his words do not match his deeds. Although he is as charismatic as his former pastor, Rev. Wright, his statements conflict with his actions. He takes credit for stabilizing the economy; which is only becoming stable because his policies are failing and the world has chosen to bypass American influence.

The American dream he talked about is not my American dream or the one my father told me about. It is not the responsibility of our government to solve all man’s problems; especially when they can't even solve their own problems. As long as our leaders are corrupt, dysfunctional and self serving, I want government to stop growing bigger and start growing competent.

If it isn’t obvious the government wants complete control over the American people, then you are either blind, or choose not to see. If it continues, the world's new codeword for "Nazi" will be "American"!

Firearm's lesson of the day

Hot Chicks Who

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself!

Labor Day in the USA!

Isn’t it wonderful to live in a country that grants workers a national holiday for their labor? Especially when its unemployment rate is realistically 16%? I sometimes wonder if our government want Americans to become dependent on a government check?

What better way to buy a man’s vote than to make him dependent on federal funds on a regular basis; whether it be a paycheck, welfare, social security, unemployment, disability, food stamps or any other subsidy or social program. If my income were derived from the government, I would vote for the guy who would give me the most money. I would also politic against anyone who wanted to cut my funding.

If 9% of Americans are drawing unemployment, they will vote for just about any politician who would extend or increase their check. I know I would. I think the same can be said about most other recipients of a government subsidy, and I can’t blame them either.

When the government grows, so do loyal constituents of whatever person, group or entity responsible for their income. These are votes purchased by the taxpayer. The greater percentage of people who receive government benefits, the greater number of people who want more government funding. You don’t have to work for ACORN or Americorps to actively push for certain political candidates.

When 50% of Americans draw a government check or subsidy, nanny state politicians will dominate the government machine. This holds true on local, county and state politics, as well as on the national level.

Sadly, our children are spoiled. Hard work and sacrifice are not the path of today’s youth. Many grew up in an entitlement atmosphere; from which there is no easy escape. When mommy and daddy stop paying the bills, they look somewhere else; why not the government?

I would love to live in a Utopian society where my wants and needs were provided at no cost. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to never have to work for a living? Unfortunately, I have only heard of one place like that, and it’s not here on earth. Since none actually exists, I prefer to work for the benefit of me, my family and my country; not for the benefit of a neighbor with little or no work ethic.

I don’t know about you, but I do not want to have to depend on any government for food, clothing and shelter. I believe that those who work hard to better their standard of living shouldn’t be responsible for those people who chose not to make the same effort. The US Constitution guarantees the right to pursue happiness. It doesn’t say the government will provide it, or a better standard of living for that matter.

Liberals seem to blame poverty on the lack of education, but I don’t know anyone living in America, legally or illegally, who aren’t given the opportunity to a good education. What a person chooses to do with their life is their business, but don’t penalize hard working, tax paying Americans because others make poor choices and do not contribute to their own success.

There are great arguments for helping the poor, but I believe being poor is a choice, not a condition. For most Americans, their standard of living is based on hard work, sacrifice, setting goals, living below one’s means. Those Americans seem to be fewer and fewer as the entitlement sector grows.

I know a lot of people who want a job and don’t have a job; but I don’t know many people who want to work that haven’t found work!

God bless the American worker,

Denney Crane

Billy Graham's Rev. Joe Wright's
Prayer For Our Nation

THIS MAN SURE HAS A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed inverted our values.

We confess that; we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it pluralism;

We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism;

We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle;

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery;

We have neglected the needy and called it self preservation;

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare;

We have killed our unborn and called it choice;

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable;

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem;

We have abused power and called it politics political savvy;

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, oh God, and know our hearts today; try us and see if there be some wicked way in us; cleanse us from every sin and et us free.

Amen!'

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God'.

EDIT: Rev. Joe Wright a Pastor at Central Christian Church in Wichita, KS read this prayer at the opening of the Kansas legislature January 23, 1996 which created a tremendous amount of controversy, not only in the House, but nationwide. I actually remember when this happened and completely agreed with every word of his prayer. I am personally guilty of many of the sins which he asked God's forgiveness.

I have been noticeably off my game lately, for which I apologize. I do not apologize for agreeing with the message in this prayer, but appreciate all of you who correct me when I make a mistake.
