Iowa vs. New Orleans

What's the difference between Iowa and New Orleans?

Where were the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons
asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks
affected by the floods? Where is good old Michael Moore?

Why did the media NOT ask the tough questions about
why the federal government didn't solve this problem?
Asking where are the FEMA trucks, trailers and food services?

Why didn't the Federal government move Iowa
people into free hotels in Chicago and Minneapolis

When will Spike Lee go on record and say that the Federal
government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants
to rebuild a 'vanilla' Iowa .... because that's what God wants?

Where were Sean Penn, Bono and the Dixie Chicks?

Where were all the looters stealing high-end
tennis shoes, cases of beer and television sets?

Where was the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete
with reports of shootings at rescuers of rapes and murder?

Where were all the people screaming that
George Bush hates white, rural people?
Where were Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt,
Oprah, and Harry Connick Jr?
Why, after two weeks, you never heard
about the Iowa flooding ever again?
Where were the government bailout vouchers
and government debit cards?

What the heck made the people of New Orleans
so much more important than the people of Iowa?

Is it because they don't have enough black people?

Unnecessary Humor

A dedicated Teamsters union worker was attending a convention in Las Vegas and decided to check out the local brothels. When he got to the first one, he asked the Madam, 'Is this a union house?'

'No,' she replied, 'I'm sorry it isn't.'

'Well, if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?'

'The house gets $80 and the girls get $20,' she answered.

Offended at such unfair dealings, the union man stomped off down the street in search of a more equitable, hopefully unionized shop. His search continued until finally he reached a brothel where the Madam responded, 'Why yes sir, this is a union house. 'We observe all union rules.'

The man asked, 'And if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?' 'The girls get $80 and the house gets $20.'

'That's more like it!' the union man said.

He handed the Madam $100, looked around the room, and pointed to a stunningly attractive green-eyed blonde…

'I'd like her,' he said.

'I'm sure you would, sir,' said the Madam. Then she gestured to a 92-year old woman in the corner, 'but Ethel here has 67 years seniority and according to union rules, she's next.'

PRICELESS WORTHLESS

GAO warns of lack of oversight...

ABC ~ The Government Accountability Office issued a report warning about possible lack of oversight on the President's spending packages.

The GAO offical wrote, “With the exception of Citigroup and Bank of America, Treasury has refused to seek further details on TARP recipients’ use of funds… Simply put, the American people have a right to know how their tax dollars are being used... In light of the fact that the American taxpayer has been asked to fund this extraordinary effort to stabilize the financial system, it is not unreasonable that the public be told how those funds have been used by TARP recipients."

I wonder how long this guy will keep his job?

Another interesting point in the article, ‘The Treasury Department has indicated that it will not follow the Inspector General's recommendation…

Do you remember the promises our President made about oversight and transparency? It ain't happening!

Worst of the worst news!

This is not good!

Will the Taliban overthrow Pakistan and get Nukes soon? Pakistan is a 'mortal threat' to world, says Clinton as Taliban surge towards Islamabad Daily Mail ...

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! In February, our ideologically superior President backed a peace deal between the Taliban and Pakistan. It didn’t work!

“It is important they [Pakistan] recognize the real threats to their country,” Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.

Why didn't the President or Sec. Gates recognize the "real threats"?

Why would our government want Pakistan to give up part of their country so the Taliban could control and enforce strict Sharia Law?

Why does SOS Hilary Clinton now blame the Pakistan government for this grave threat when we used our influence to help create this crisis?

When was the last time a radical Muslim terrorist network ever honored an agreement with anyone they considered an infidel?

If the Taliban promotes suicide nurseries, do you think they will have a problem killing anyone?

Would President Bush let the Taliban invade Pakistan and allow them to obtain nuclear weapons?

Do you think the Taliban, Hamas or Hezbollah fear America under its current leadership?

Do you think the Obama administration will use force to aide the Pakistan government? Here's the answer!

Does President Obama have the same peace plans for Israel, Hamas and Hezbollah? America is sending Hamas $900 million to "rebuild Gaza". Yea, sure they will...

LAST QUESTION

Do you feel safer under President Obama's protection than under Bush's watch?

Have no fear! "The president will reiterate his hopes and his belief of the opportunities, but also the responsibilities that each leader has..." said White House spokesman Robert Gibbs. President Obama has decided to host a US-Pakistan-Afghanistan summit on May 6-7 because he wanted to get personally involved. If the current government still exists...

Obama has got to be the weakest foreign policy President since Jimmy Carter. President Carter wanted peace and diplomacy while Iran showed the world America was weak and gutless. Iran is aiding these terrorist organizations and since they know we are planning to send in troops, they are getting a good foothold. Maybe they want a second launch site! If we send in troops now after broadcasting our every move, much more American blood will be spilled!

If Israel doesn't use force, they are doomed. Once they annialate Israel, we won't be far behind...

Obama's go to man! An Obamanation...

New World Order patriot and GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt was booed at a shareholders meeting for defending MSNBC allowing actress Janeane Garofalo to call Tea Party protestors racist rednecks. Being last in the ratings doesn’t affect their high standards!

What do you expect from Mr. Immelt? He makes $20 million a year plus perks. Despite US and UN sanctions, he still does business with Iran & Syria. He is the same man who serves on President Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board.

“[GE] They are among the largest U.S. companies that do business in terror sponsorship.” Christopher Holton, Center for Security Policy’s Divest Terror initiative Fox

“They are wearing sweaters in hell tonight because The New York Times and I agree on Iran.” Bill O’Reilly Fox

Hot off the presses TODAY: GE has aligned itself
to reap hundreds of millions off the President’s “cap and trade” (hidden energy tax) policy. Making money off government regulation and tax revenue… more details soon!

My mad cow is flaring again!

I've keep thinking about the government's plan (aka cap and trade) that will increase the cost of electricity by 40%-100%. As always, businesses will raise their prices and pass along the cost to the consumer. What will happen to the elderly and disabled on fixed incomes? Will they be forced into nursing homes; freeze to death because they can't afford to pay their utilities; starve to death due because they can't afford food?
___________________

Why would our government, starting with Bush, waste billions of tax dollars to bailout a dysfunctional General Motors? Non-governmental experts predicted that bankruptcy was inevitable. I read somewhere that Bush did it because he didn’t want it to happen during his watch, but I can only come up with one other reason it continued... To payoff the unions for their campaign contributions. The same way they paid off AIG for their contributions. It boggles my mind as to why we let hundreds of billions go overseas… who got that money? Does anyone believe our politicians don't know exactly what they're doing?

"You ain't seen bad yet, but it's comin."

I heard this statement in a movie 20 years ago and have never forgotten it. This statement comes to mind when I think about the future of America's economy. This is the rainy day our grandparents spoke about.

I wish Ronald Reagan were here to implement Reaganomics, his plan that successfully led America out of economic crisis. President Reagan didn't just talk about hope, he actually instilled faith and hope into the American people. No matter what you read on the left-wing blogsites, the economy was in worse shape than it was when Barack Obama became President.

Part of me wants President Obama to open Pandora’s box and prosecute President Bush and his administration for allegedly torturing terrorists enemy combatants. Neither I, nor Nancy Pelosi had a problem with these college initiation pranks procedures, but this would set precedent on the future of prosecuting politicians for unconstitutional policies and criminal behavior. When Democrats lose control of Congress, they won’t be able to protect each other. It might be worth the sacrifice…

Another Politician With Problems

CQ Politics ~ 'Rep. Jane Harman , the California Democrat with a longtime involvement in intelligence issues, was overheard on an NSA wiretap telling a suspected Israeli agent that she would lobby the Justice Department reduce espionage-related charges against two officials of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, the most powerful pro-Israel organization in Washington.

Harman was recorded saying she would "waddle into" the AIPAC case "if you think it'll make a difference," according to two former senior national security officials familiar with the NSA transcript.

In exchange for Harman's help, the sources said, the suspected Israeli agent pledged to help lobby Nancy Pelosi , D-Calif., then-House minority leader, to appoint Harman chair of the Intelligence Committee after the 2006 elections, which the Democrats were heavily favored to win.

Seemingly wary of what she had just agreed to, according to an official who read the NSA transcript, Harman hung up after saying, "This conversation doesn't exist." Harman declined to discuss the wiretap allegations, instead issuing an angry denial through a spokesman.

"These claims are an outrageous and recycled canard, and have no basis in fact," Harman said in a prepared statement. "I never engaged in any such activity. Those who are peddling these false accusations should be ashamed of themselves."

This particular subject doesn't strike me as odd, congressional leaders wheel and deal this way on a daily basis. Though I do wonder about how much information spies obtain from Congress and, as always, the necessity for any politician to lie. Even when confronted with an actual tape recording, it has "no basis in fact". This would have probably never come to the public eye, but I have a sneaky suspicion that she wouldn't play ball with her peers and this was a reprisal.

The Justice Department is probably gonna let them off the hook anyway; lobbyists pay well...

Have you noticed how most Democratic congresspeople don't get indicted for criminal behavior, even though they are accused of wrongdoing twice as much as Republicans?

Oct. 30, 2008, Senator Dianne Feinstein wrote a letter to the FDIC saying that she was introducing legislation to send them $25 billion "to help the FDIC secure money for its effort to stem the rise of home foreclosures" WT. Three days later, Richard Blum, her husband and Chairman of the CB Richard Ellis Group, (CBRE) was awarded a multi-million dollar government contract from the FDIC. About the same time, Mr. Blum's company also bought 10 million more shares of their own stock, now up about 40% or almost $14 million. Does the phrase "conflict of interest" come to mind? Extremist?

“Mrs. Feinstein's intervention on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was unusual: the California Democrat isn't a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs with jurisdiction over FDIC; and the agency is supposed to operate from money it raises from bank-paid insurance payments - not direct federal dollars.” Washington Times

Right-Wing Extremists

Just who are these right-wing extremists? Townhall

Here is who they ARE NOT:
Members of the Mexican drug cartel located in the US,
Terrorists about to be released into the US from Guantanimo,
Local Muslims committing “honor killings” in America,
Animal rights activists with bomb making skills,
ACORN members who harass bankers and a Texas Senator,
Middle Eastern nationals

Does the right-wing extremist threat constitute the formation of a new federal police force, controlled and answerable to the POTUS?

President Obama “suggested the creation of a federal police force, comparable in size to the military”. …”a federal police force could become President Obama's personal domestic political army, his own storm troopers.”

Around a million sworn to serve (excluding military).
If the President whispers, any one of these will respond.

FBI agents, CIA agents, ATF agents, DHS agents, NSA agents and police, DEA agents, DOD agents, FFA agents, Border Patrol agents, US Customs agents, Secret Service agents, Diplomatic Security Service agents, Federal Protective Service agents, Transportation Security agents, US Marshals & deputies, Federal air marshals & deputies, Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service agents, IRS agents, Coast Guard police, US National Guard, Army Military police, Air Force security agents, Naval Intelligence Police, Marine Corps Marshals, Indian Affairs police, Bureau of Land Management police, US Park Rangers, US Park police, US Fish & Wildlife agents, Federal Reserve police, Library of Congress police, National Oceanic & Atmospheric Fisheries law enforcement, US Capitol Police, US Postal inspectors, US Supreme Court Police, Veterans Affairs police; State of Texas enforcement that includes city police, city marshals, county police, constables, state police; including Highway Patrol, Game Wardens, Rangers, TABC agents and the Attorney General & its officers.

TO PROTECT & SERVE?

The big question: What reasons would America need a Federal Police Force when we already have a vast law enforcement establishment already in place?

I respect and appreciate law enforcement, but the existing judicial system isn't interested in prosecuting all our laws and politicians condemn & persecute officers when they enforce them. Does the RICO statue apply to politicians?

Email of the Day

The doctor, after an examination, sighed and said, 'I've got some bad news. You have cancer, and you'd best put your affairs in order.'

The woman was shocked, but managed to compose herself and walk into the waiting room where her daughter had been waiting.

'Well, daughter, we women celebrate when things are good, and we celebrate when things don't go so well. In this case, things aren't well. I have cancer. So, let's head to the club and have a martini.'

After 3 or 4 martinis, the two were feeling a little less somber. There were some laughs and more martinis.. They were eventually approached by some of the woman's old friends, who were curious as to what the two were celebrating.

The woman told her friends they were drinking to her impending end, 'I've been diagnosed with AIDS..'

The friends were aghast, gave the woman their condolences and beat a hasty retreat.

After the friends left, the woman's daughter leaned over and whispered, 'Momma, I thought you said you were dying of cancer, and you just told your friends you were dying of AIDS! Why did you do that??'

'Because I don't want any of those bitches sleeping with your father after I'm gone.'

And THAT, my friends, is what is called, 'putting your affairs in order'!

hat tip to AJ (Ambulance Jockey) my email guru!

Today, President Obama acts very presidential, FINALLY!

After speaking to the CIA Monday, letting them know that he's "got their back" after releasing their classified interrogation techniques, he accepted some presidential accountability. At 11:15 AM this morning on Fox News, President Barack Obama said, "I wake up every day thinking about how to keep the American people safe and I go to bed every night worrying about keeping the American people safe. I've got a lot of other things on my plate. I've got a big banking crisis, and I've got unemployment numbers that are very high, and we've got an auto industry that needs work... "

This is the first time that I know of, our President didn't play the blame game but actually stood up and acknowledged that he has difficult problems to deal with. No matter how much I may disagree what he's doing or how he's doing it, I must applaud his decision to finally "own" our problems. Although I vehemently oppose most of his actions and policies, I believe he acted very presidential in his remarks! The skeptic in me just hopes it wasn't an act...

I'm sure there are many of you who may not agree with me on this, but I refuse to be completely intollerant so I give credit when I think it's due. In more irony, I posted the video below which was as impressive as any speech I've seen a US President deliver.

Wise County Senator Votes Today For More Entitlements?

We will soon see...

From Americans For Prosperity

Dear Denney

This week, 22 Texas Senators voted to expand our unemployment insurance eligibility in Texas. This will result in a short-term gain, but long-term cost. It will result in a tax increase that will impact Texas employers and future job growth. Please call those Senators and ask them to reverse their vote, and vote against this tax increase. The bill is SB 1569 and the next vote is slated for Monday.

Texas has the strongest economy in the nation for one reason — we work to keep taxes low. Texas has the largest job growth in the country, has been named as the best state for doing business, and has more Fortune 500 companies than any other state.

But some Senators are willing to throw our success away and accept one-time federal dollars that will expand our current program. The unemployment insurance portion of the so-called stimulus would pay for less than eight weeks of unemployment insurance payments in Texas. Passage of SB 1569 will result in a permanent tax increase for Texas employers and fewer jobs in Texas.

Our message to those Senators who voted for the tax increase: Don't mess with Texas' economy and job growth!

Texans want a paycheck, not an unemployment check. Our current program of Unemployment Insurance still allows those who lose their jobs to get unemployment checks while they look for a new job.

It is imperative that we not increase taxes at this critical time. We agree with what Sen. Tommy Williams (R-The Woodlands) said before the vote on Thursday:

“Texas employers would be stuck paying the bill, through higher state taxes, once the federal money ran out. I just felt like the long-term consequences of expanding that program are not good for Texas employers.”

Please call these State Senators and tell them to vote against this tax increase (SB 1569) and for Texas jobs:
